I went into a music store in Leominster, MA yesterday and they had a Guild F30 made in Hoboken that they had just taken in. It is in mint condition with plenty of saddle remaining. The tuners were plate mounted with tulip shaped knobs. They haven't tagged it with a price yet but the owners says he will be selling it for $1200. It also has the original case also in mint condition.

Boy I seem to be finding these great old Hoboken Guilds lately. I'm not sure if it is a blessing or a curse, as I can't afford to buy them all.

If anyone is interested it is in Gordon Lasalle Music in Leominster, MA in the Twin City Shopping center.

I played it and thought it must have dead strings on it as it sounded somewhat dull. I'm sure a fresh set of strings would have made a huge differance. If I was serious about buying, I would have asked the owner to restring it.

The spruce top had very wide grain with no silking. Could it have been red spruce? It sure looked like it.
