Since the condition is ruff... I'm tempted to have this thing spiffed up and painted black. I seen that pic of one and it's so tight. I am hindered since this is the only burst carved we know of.

Jeff

Well, ultimately it's your fiddle, do what you want with it...no sense having a guitar that doesn't make you happy. Take a few good shots for posterity, then paint that eff'er!

I agree with Hammer that it's your fiddle and you should do what you want with it, but allow me to be the counter-point to his point about painting it. There are so few sunburst Carveds around that I'd had to see one lost to a paint job, especially if you aren't happy with the thickness of the neck. I'd recommend getting it rewired for sure, then if you still don't like it, try and trade it and/or sell it before you consider painting it. That's just my two cents worth.

Even though it's not a '73, I'd be tempted to save it from being painted black, if I only had something that would satisfy your thicker neck requirements.

It's growing on me. I might let the reissue go. We'll see....waiting on a sunny day for pics

Get the wiring back to the way it should be. Keep it for awhile and see what you think. If you end up not digging it, sell it and get a reissue you can rout out and slap some HB-1's in. That may be the only way you'll be satisfied. Although didn't you mod greenie like that?

Yup, but that neck is a baseball bat...haha... It works great for slide and alternate tunings tho.

I've got a couple bags of period correct caps. I'm gonna see if I can get the right values and rewire it. Dude the resonance on this one is nice. I'm starting to get the feel for the neck. It is just taking some getting used to. It's a pretty rad guitar.

DING! We have a winner! :D

The fat resonant tone, the hot, clear HB-1's with the full tonal range, that's what this guitar is all about, in my opinion.

That's what the S-100 has over everything else - For some strange reason, the ones I've played just VIBE in a way that you can't get from very many guitars.

It's a cool guitar, but I think I prefer the reissue necks. I do a lot of full step string bends and have a wide vibrato and I keep pulling both e strings off of the neck...haha

Gonna move it soon. get at me

I'll even take a hit on this. Everything works and the action is nice. Good frets and the wiring should be redone, but it works. Good shape original hard case.

I'll put this in FS/FT as well.

I almost bought this guitar about 6 months ago. I got cold feet when it got down to the wire. Good luck. Hope it works out great for you!
You should PM cdiaz. Might make a very quick "keeping it in the family" sale. :D

I PMed cdiaz, but it's still hanging in my outbox, which means he hasn't opened it yet. Hate to see him let this one get away again.

Consider going to the profile and sending email. I am always surprised at the number of folks who don't know about or don't use the PM system.
