No International shipping necessary!

+1

I was thinking the same exact thing... sounds like a very logical option & a great way to get a far superior guitar compared to the newer DV's.

Hi all,
I've tried a Mexican DV-6 twice at a local shop. I'm a mediocre player and I didn't spend a lot of time with it either time I played it (grain of salt), but I was impressed. The neck felt great and the sound was fabulous -- rich, clear, balanced (insert whatever vague guitar sound adjectives you might imagine are appropriate for spruce over EIR). I strummed a chord and the back had a strong and pleasing vibration against my beer gut. The thing really rang out and was still humming nicely as I put it back on the rack. No buzz up the neck that I could detect (I tried) in a pretty dry guitar shop. If I were in the market for a rosewood dread, it would be on my list. You can probably pick one up used (Mexican or USA) for a relatively painless chunk of change. That said, I've only tried one and it might have been a winner.

One guy's opinion.

Thank you everyone for giving me such a warm welcome! Just to let you know I am in the middle of selling various other guitars, mandolins etc etc and doing some serious saving! What you have inspired me with, though, is to really make an effort to go out and try EVERYTHING.

As I said before, as a songwriter, I need to just look around and find an instrument that talks to me; and now I know that it is likely to be a Guild (probably above anything else) ... maybe an old one, maybe a new one - who knows?

(I'm laughing) ... it's like in Harry Potter where the wand-maker says "It's never the Wizard that chooses the Wand, but the Wand that chooses the Wizard"!

At least I now know where to go looking for my "Wand" ....

Thanks Steffan! Shameless plug...

I can't seem to sell this guitar, even for a giveaway price. :(
