Actually (and pedantically), The Province of New Jersey was once divided into East Jersey and West Jersey. I reside in what was West Jersey.
That would put me in East Jersey, although by Craigslist, I'm "Jersey Shore"!
My boundaries for "Central Jersey" are; south of the Raritan River/Route 22 West, north of Route 72.
It's easy to tell by the accents.
North Jerseyians sound like they're from New Yawk. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City_English
South Jerseyians sound like they're from Philly with the "Philly O". "I used the phowne!" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia_English
Here in Central Jersey we have no accent at all!
(By the way Steve, welcome home, hope you had a great time and sweet guitar!)
