I see it actually worked for you to attach an MP3, but generally we don't support that. @GAD any comment? Soundcloud is where most of our users put there sound files. Again, welcome aboard, Karlo!https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?media/20230810-mp3.87/
MP3 sorry!!!!
There is a 6db HPF rolled up to 200hz and a 250hz 3db bump on my input EQ.
Lol that bump probably ain’t necessary and I’d normally put a high shelf on it around 4.7khz using a bandaxall type slope for production purposes but for this to just highlight the quality of the pickup and guitar combo I’m excluded the hi shelf.
You can hear the single coil hiss at the beginning of the file for those on the fence about if this pickups noise floor is acceptable or not. For me- acceptable.
My SoundCloud is defiled with electronic music! Didn’t want to upload a “4 chord campfire strum along” to my electronic portfolio, no sir! I’d be left exposed.I see it actually worked for you to attach an MP3, but generally we don't support that. @GAD any comment? Soundcloud is where most of our users put there sound files. Is this just the pickup? If so it sounds very nice. Smooth and balanced.https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?media/20230810-mp3.87/

Yes! However, the pickup has an internal mic with a volume control for the mic. I have the mic all the way up.Is this just the pickup? If so it sounds very nice. Smooth and balanced.
I have a Fishman Rare Earth Blend - design wise I'd say the Rare Earth series is what the Mojotone ones are based on, but it's cool that this one is A) more affordable and B) has a much more robust battery life (or at least claims to). I do like that the Fishman REB gives you the option to completely take the magnetic pickup out of the mix, but what you're getting for a mix on the NC-2 is super usable. I'm tempted to get one and compare them! Thanks for the demo.Yes! However, the pickup has an internal mic with a volume control for the mic. I have the mic all the way up.
Edit: Also note that file is compressed mp3 format the original file was 48khz and the top end was (to my ears) even more smooth.
It’s pretty convincing but I’m coming from a built in preamp that was basically unusable from a recording standpoint so even the sound of a toilet flushing is a step up from that.
REB and Dimarzio black angel w/ piezo were my runner ups but the Dimarzio required too much install and the fishman… well, I’m hesitant it was going to be more of the same of what I already got on my Martin although the online demos show otherwise but I thought I’d give the underdog NC-2 a try. I’d be curious to hear a shootout between the NC-2 and REB.I have a Fishman Rare Earth Blend - design wise I'd say the Rare Earth series is what the Mojotone ones are based on, but it's cool that this one is A) more affordable and B) has a much more robust battery life (or at least claims to). I would agree with this. if you were to resell it people could always install another pickup instead if they wish, or take it out and reverse the mod. These days you can get one of those nice “No Jak” endpins that go right into the larger hole. The question comes up a lot. I would not worry about installing an end pin jack on this or most others. Unless it is uber rare and collectible that kind of mod should not negatively impact value should you decide to sell. For those who play plugged in it is a benefit.
Thanks! I’m digging the MojoTone. I had a luthier hard install the strap pin jack and had em add a neck strap button. I mostly putz around unplugged but I’m loving the sound of this box!Welcome to the land of Guild! Great looking guitar. I put an M1 active in my D55 about 10 years ago and love the natural sound but if I was doing it today would check out the pickup you got. Play on and have fun!
Definitely keep the internal mic as your primary source (cranked all the way up). That's the best sound. If you're on stage you might need to make some adjustments to help with feedback.Yes! However, the pickup has an internal mic with a volume control for the mic. I have the mic all the way up.
