Joe thats when I got my D50 as well....pure braz....amazing tone......and somewhere along the line I let it get away......a woman I can understand but a 64-65 Guild D-50.........OUCH! :( Steffan

Dang, Steffan! I'd give one of my more important body parts for a Braz D50.

Mine was made not long after they stopped using it, and D50s of that vintage must be rare as hen's teeth these days...

Welcome to LTG!
I went through the same exact phases of "guitar abandonment" (mine only lasted 15 years or so) followed by the "bug bite" syndrome and an insatiable taste for playing. And of course, the acute case of "GAS" which brings and keeps most of us hanging around here....
Enjoy and good luck!!!

Welcome to LTG...kick your shoes off, relax your mind...and in-between, play baby play.

G.A.S. (Guild Acquisition Syndrome) WARNING: don't ever ask us to help you decide between 2 Guilds you are considering because the next best thing to getting one is encouraging a member to get one...so we'll just say get 'em both.

Extra credit for figuring out #1 how to use the digital camera then #2 mastering how to upload pictures to a free image hosting site like photobucket.com and #3 actually posting pictures

1965 D-50 Brazilian back & sides bought new (I was 18). I managed to hang on to it and somehow end up with a great guitar AND a great woman, but it had a lot more to do with dumb luck than any cleverness on my part. :D

"Damn Good in DADGAD
Since I play acoustics in DADGAD, I gave the F-512 a quick tuning and hit the first open chord. “Damn!” was literally the first word out of my mouth. It sounded fantastic, and I also admired the setup job as I moved up the neck. "
"When you can hit a full open chord and hear it resonate inside for well over 15 seconds, it’s a testament to the quality of an instrument. That’s what happened with this guitar. The playability and action were so smooth that I even took it to my guitar tech, Rob DiStefano at Fret Tech, to look at so he could take note of its setup and apply it to all my acoustic guitars."
