I live in Virginia. Pretty hard to kill anything in the summer, once plants get rooted well.
Did you finish your cabin?I live in Virginia. Pretty hard to kill anything in the summer, once plants get rooted well.
That's fabulous!“Finish” is not in my vocabulary.
”Getting there” is!
Here it is with the front porch going on.
Hopefully whoever chowed down on it

Fig total: 1WE GOT A FIG!
That doesn't seem that awesome unless you understand that my wife's Father rooted some Fig sticks for us over the Winter which were planted in the Spring. All the leaves dropped after planting and we thought it was all over. Then slowly but surely, it gained strength and produced new leaves. Next thing we knew there was a fig sprouting!
It was delicious! My wife's sister has a well established Fig tree from the same source down in Maryland and they had a bounty harvest of Figs this year. They like the heat if you keep them watered. We found that the in-ground lawn sprinkler has been watering ours!
Half dovetail, actually. They shed water better than a full dovetail. And, do I see..... DOVETAIL joints???
Damn, Neal! That's some rustic beauty!
