I saw this surfing the net and thought I'd share. No knowledge of the unit or how it performs but from the look it does look a bit scary and heavy possibly

I guess the two screws adjust the clamping pressure. Sure does look like it would chew up the top over time. Maybe a knock off of LR Baggs?

I can’t see any cushion material under the side pieces, looks like metal on wood but can’t really tell. I use my LR Baggs drop in a lot on my different guitars. Just takes a small amount of tightening to hold with the non slip cushion tabs. You Get the option of letting the small wire hang outside the guitar to connect to your guitar cable for my guitars that have no permanent jack. I can move it between guitars in under a minute, no need to loosen the strings. Plus the separate magnet heights under the strings are adjustable with the Allen wrench they supply to get the output even across the strings. I also use a “Body REZ” box in line when using a magnetic pickup to add the deeper body sound of an acoustic. Great stage setup for guitars with no pre installed pickups.

Check in in 5 years. If your soundhole and rosettes are fine then never mind. Otherwise you have the damage that is why no soundhole PU is used here ever again :) It's the moving and removing that caused the damage here. If it just stayed in place...

The RL brand is owned by "Bryk Sound Research Ltd.", development is in Germany, production in China. The General Manager is Leszek Bryk, a musician from the Stuttgart/Germany area. I think they are located in Göppingen.

Both RL and Bryk somehow belong to "Royalplay Group"...

Except those two pictures I did not find any more info about that specific design (Model number PM1)

What I wonder is how that massively heavy damper affects the top vibration, even if it is in a relatively "dead" zone.

It may work well but it looks cantankerous.
Wonder how heavy it is.......
