A few weeks back I put some JP New Medium 80/20s on my Tacoma D-50. Wow! By far my favorite string so far, and I've tried many. I also got some PBs that I'll try next.

I really like the gauges: 13,17,24,32,42,55.

A bit easier on my fingers when playing for hours on end, but more volume than lights.

Anybody else trying these? I never knew they existed, now I'm converted!

They're all I'll play except on my maple guitars, but I play JP 80/20 Lights. Just bought 8 sets of JP's.

I'd like to try these strings but I can't find them and I've no idea if they make 0.11s.

Thanks, I checked on my usual sellers on ebay, and I just found 0.10 and 0.12, since you're talking so highly about these strings, I'd be curious to check them... I'm trying to make some experiments trying to find out the best strings for my guitars, so far Elixir were the best because they limit the left hand noise, but I'm always curious to try something new.

You'll notice that's a very good price on JP's. I've not found strings that are as playable or that sound any better than the JP's on my rosewoods, but I prefer Thomastick Plectums on my maple guitars. In all honesty, the JP's don't seem to last nearly as long as a coated string, but for the price, playability and sound, they can't be beat in my very humble opinion.

West,
I just got a D30 and need to put new strings on. You put Thomastick Plectrums on your D30, correct? What weight? What do you like about them? I've never used them. Anyone else with ideas/suggestions for strings on a D30? Thanks.

Yes sir, I put Plectrums lights on the D30. What do I like about them? Man, that's a tough question. You may think I'm crazy if you don't already, but I like the way they sound with maple. I've tried Plectrums on my rosewood guitars and don't care for the sound, I've tried the JP 80/20 I use on the rosewoods on the maples, same story........I just don't care for the sound, but the Plectrums not only seem to sound better, they seem to play better on the D30.......just a feel thing I guess.

But I'll say this, I believe it so much that I just bought 9 sets of strings....paid $44.00 for 8 sets of JP's and $16.00 for 1 set of Thomastik Plectrums.

Yeah, those Thomastiks are expensive, West. :) Hey, you get 3 layers of stuff for that money, though, rather than 2. :)

Have my first set of John Pearse New Mediums on my 1981 D-25. I tried the straight medium Pearse PB mediums on this guitar and did not like them. Now as the New Mediums are settling down after 4 or 5 hours of playing, I'm liking them more than when I first put them on. I just don't like new strings.

I've heard great things about those strings on the Accoustic Guitar Forum, but i can't find them anywhere locally. I see a link below i'll have to try to order them. I would really like to try them on my GAD 40CE.

Chicago of course
The 80/20s are all I'll use on my D25. My guys at Fretworks fitted my initial setup with DAddirio lights, which were okay, but when I switched out to the JPs the difference was just undeniable.

If you are going to order them online, check with Don first for pricing. I think his prices are very very good.
