I am just going to make it worse by saying that I played that guitar a few weeks ago (acoustic only) and it played and sounded amazing. Really good dry woody sound and loud unplugged. I didn’t plug it in as I was afraid that I would have struggled to leave without it. The only odd thing I noticed was that the back part of the floating bridge base was cut off lengthwise making it slightly more narrow. Almost looked like a factory manufacturing error. That definitely would not have stopped me from buying it.

I will also say the people in the shop were really nice. Walked over and gave me a cord, told me to play anything I wanted and plug it into anything. Very nice. Just enough attention without feeling like they were hovering over and watching.

If I had a nickel for every time I've uttered these words...

I could afford to buy it, but the truth is, I have no use for a guitar like that at this point. It would sit in its case most of the time. On top of that, I'm feeling like I need to be careful about money at my age. I need to be smart about purchases as I inch closer to retirement.

Looks a lot like my '59, but mine has worse binding, and better knobs!

Perhaps consider paying via funds acquired from bank robberies

Uh oh.
Counselling to commit a felony to purchase a guitar may lead to a lecture in green type from Franny Bollocks or one of his minions.
Best beware Rambozo96.

You can afford it. It is simply a matter of displaced priorities. Food, guitars, shelter, then family. I hope that helps.
