I thought it was a D50. I purchased a 1975 Guild that I thought was a D50. Turns out it's slightly smaller.

I purchased a 1975 Guild that I thought was a D50. Turns out it's slightly smaller. The badge is missing. What is it? Serial number checks out 1975... it's stamped as May 1975, inside. It's rosewood, it's a Guild, it's shaped like a dread when you look at it. But it's smaller when you put it up next to a D50. What did I buy. It's nice but it's not a D50...

They did a smaller sized D back in the day.... like 3/4 sized. Maybe it was called a G-xx? I'm having memory problems. They're super cool and if you could post a photo it would be very helpful!!

Probably a G75. Does it look like this?

Well......? How do you like it???? I suppose if you bought it online, Mark, you can return it for not being what you expected, but these are pretty rare and pretty cool!

I just did a neck reset and refret... That's why the pick guard is off. When I got the neck back on, I tried to put it in the D50 case... Not going to happen.
You might want to try an OM sized case, but the guitar might not have enough waist to fit in one.

Congrats on the accidental purchase MarkAnthony. That is a really nice and uncommon Guild. Surprisingly loud for its size. The ones we’ve seen have had some superbly grained rosewood. I’d love to see pics of yours.

Thanks man... It's a nice guitar. It sounds really full and balanced. It's not what I was expecting... but it's a pleasant surprise. here's the back:
