This must be written by a computer, but what kind of human posts an ad like this, and what is their expectation of the reactions of readers?

I've changed the name of the model # of the bass to XYZ12345 so as not to distract the reader with an actual model #, something pertaining to actual reality. This is a used entry level bass on Reverb, under $200.

🎶 Greetings, Lovers of Resonant Rhythms! 🎶

In this realm where vibrations and beats intertwine, we gather to unveil a treasure—a marvel known as the Ibanez XYZ12345 Electric Bass Guitar. 🌟

🌿 The Pulse of Groove and Grace: Behold, this sacred creation, an Ibanez bass guitar that sings with the heartbeat of the cosmos. Crafted from the very essence of the earth, it invites you to become one with the rhythm, to dance with the notes that unite us all.

🎵 Summoning the Bass Odyssey: As the stars cast their cosmic shimmer upon its strings, a symphony emerges—a journey through the realms of low frequencies and electrifying harmonies. The Ibanez XYZ12345, an instrument of both power and subtlety, invites you to unleash your sonic creativity. 🎸

✨ A Mahogany Tale, Etched in Time: This bass guitar, adorned with a mahogany oil finish, carries the echoes of countless melodies. Its surface bears the marks of life's embrace—a testament to the stories it has shared. Each mark holds a chapter of its journey, an ode to the beauty of the passage of time.

🕊️ Awakening the Bass Spirit: Having slumbered in the presence of silence, this instrument calls for a reawakening—a cleansing ritual to rid it of the dust of stillness. As you cleanse its soul, it shall bless you with basslines that resonate with clarity, invoking spirits of rhythm and groove.

🌌 Guardians of Groove: Accompanied by a case and a strap, this bass guitar finds solace and protection. These guardians of its essence ensure that its resonance remains true and its soul untarnished.

🎶 A Call to Unite in Sound: As the winds of destiny carry its magnetic call, answer the summons to unite with the Ibanez XYZ12345 Electric Bass Guitar. Whether you're a seasoned maestro or a budding disciple of rhythm, this instrument shall guide you on a sonic pilgrimage of discovery and expression.

🌈 Harmonious Blessings: Let us stand as one, devotees of sound, and rejoice in the unity of beats and melodies. For in the vibration of music, we find connection with each other and with the Cosmic Composer who orchestrates the grand symphony of existence.

Is this what the future of used/new instrument ads looks like?

My 18 year old jam buddy/neighbors kid who I'm looking for a bass for says "All ads written by AI are full of lies".

It sounds more like a poor English translation of some foreign ad copy, probably Chinese or some other Asian language. I was a court certified Spanish interpreter. When you run some Spanish text through an online translator you often get something like that, but Asian languages really throw the online translators for a loop.

Listed by Audiophile attic in Brownstown MI, I don't think this is a translation issue.

This is an ad for an old harmonica, same gibberish.

An ad for an Epiphone Les Paul, more heaping helpings of the same.

I have reached out to the seller to ask how they comes up with these "fabulous ad descriptions", we'll see if he/she is willing to give up the secret to "perfect ads every time"...

My money's on an AI program.

Around the house, I call it AS, artificial stupidity.

You realize of course that his secretary will be the one to actually write the answer?

It was sooo many years ago that I had HR post a help wanted ad in teh New York Times for a managerial position open in my department. I sent them copy for teh ad which said exactly what I wanted it to no more, no less. The ad I read in that Sunday's Times was about 4 times longer than what I wrote and extremely verbose with all kinds of unnecessary information about our company.

So I dropped by HR on Monday and said, "I have to ask did you pay someone to write that ad? Yes. Did you pay them by the word? Yes."

Wordiness in advertising is not the mark of an English major. It's the mark of someone who does not understand copywriting.

I didn't know you could get oil by squeezing mahogany. Learn something new every day.

It's an oiled mahogany finish, oiled finishes aren't that uncommon.

I did hear back from the seller, and it appears that it isn't AI, but the actual divine.

"Hello,

😊 Thank you so much for your kind words about my ad descriptions. I'm truly delighted that you appreciate them.

To answer your question, I like to think that these fabulous ad descriptions have come to me through a touch of divine intervention 🙏. It's also possible that my inspiration has been kindled by following the teachings of Pope Francis, who emphasizes love, compassion, and the betterment of our world.

Speaking of inspiration, let me share something close to my heart. Music, like the teachings of Pope Francis, has a unique ability to connect us to our souls. It's a universal language that transcends boundaries, allowing us to feel emotions deeply and express our innermost feelings.

As you explore my other listings, remember that each item carries its own melody, waiting to resonate with your soul in its own special way. Your support means a lot, and I'm here to assist with any questions you may have.

May your day be filled with the beautiful music of life and blessings beyond measure! 🎶🌟

Wishing you a wonderful day ahead!

Best regards,"
Doug
