Pretty evenly matched except for Clapton’s precision. Really fun duel too and interesting story. It only happened cause Clapton’s strap came off and Robertson jumped right in to salvage the song. Ripping blues solos. Fender strats at their finest.

Not a duel IMO. Clapton was still pretty incredible at this point, Robertson's lead playing is pretty weak by comparison, but that was never his forté, and he didn't have the benefit of years in the Yardbirds, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Delaney & Bonnie and friends, an incredibly impressive roster, plus collaborations with The Beatles and Allman Bros that are some of the best songs to remain from that era, which is saying a lot.

Yes, but even Clapton smiled a little as Robertson was ripping it. But I agree, Clapton’s precise notes are really phenomenal.

Did I read somewhere that some instruments were overdubbed later for the movie and record release? Danko's bass at the end doesn't seem to match the visual.

Such a great band, concert, recording, movie, and era. Seems like only yesterday.
