I have a fairly early guild M-20 with the following pictured label and serial number AH-1412.
its solid mahogany with cherry finish And head stock has also pictured MOP tag. Looking on line it seems like it should be. From early ‘50’s by number but I’m thinking it might be later ‘50’s…. Anyone got any thoughts on how to nail it down? Thanks!

Your Guild M-20 was manufactured between 1965 and 1969. Based on the production numbers of the popular F-20 and F-30 acoustic guitars for those years, it may be 1966 or 1967. Is the serial number stamped on the back of the headstock?

... and yes, we would enjoy seeing more photos of your M-20!

That may be from 1965.
The serial number list is not correct here. Hans wrote before regarding the M-20: "Serial numbers for the individual years between 1965 and 1969 are not known, but they do start with the AH-serial number prefix.". So the guitar is anything from between late 1967 and 1969 based on the fact that she actually seems to be produced already in the new Westerly factory (still using Hoboken labels). Hans wrote in his book that AH-470 was already from the period when Guild was training its new workers in Westerly, so 1000 serial later would mean Westerly I guess. And the first production M-20 from Westerly was shipped in August 1967.

Th dark area next to neck on face is an overspray from a repair when a #@&$ person doing a fret job slipped and gouged the front,😳

Nice guitar! But the truss rod cover is mounted upside down! It has to be the other way around to look right as it is like a Heraldic Shield.
