Great to hear his heartbreaking story. Didn't see any mention of Guild, which is a bummer.

Rexylab needs to lay off the zoom effect, though. Damn.

There was an article ("Kahler's Complaint"?) in the day detailing his issues. Floyd Rose went through some similar issues, but was ultimately successful.

Amazing.

Woulda been smart for Takeuchi to use USA/SAE threading, but good thing they didn't.

I always liked or thought I like the Floyd better, but would like to try the Kahler again.

Most people do. I hate the Floyd personally, as it completely impairs my technique, and I wouldn't be using it any harder than I would a standard strat trem anyway, so too much work.

I mostly can't stand Floyds myself, and the old 6 screw Strat trem will do it all, but lately, I've taken the arm off and decked it, more playing, less wanging.

I find that if there's a very slight float to a six-screw strat trem, it sounds more 'stratty.' I'm mostly a Bigsby guy, anyway.

A Kahler, used gently, sounds more like a Bigsby than a Floyd any day of the week. Johnny Hickman made it an integral part of his style for the first couple of decades of his career.
