Is my 2004 Strat now considered “vintage”

The color of that Strat makes me think someone had been watching Hank Marvin (though Marvin's was a brighter red with gold hardware).

We all did in the early days. The pic of my Strat is a bit misleading. Taken in 1971 with a Box Brownie.

The colour was what we called Salmon Pink, back then, despite the many so called myths about this colour. I was there in the 60s and our local music shop sold a few 'Salmon Pink' Strats, as did other UK shops. These days, it appears to be called Fiesta Red, so perhaps it was a shade of that or did UK Selmer refinish them? Who knows? All I know is that they were referred to as Salmon Pink.

I had a more modern Custom Shop Strat that was Fiesta Red and that appeared to be slightly darker than my pre_CBS one. But that could be my old memory

Isn't Salmon Pink just a faded Fiesta Red?

Due to the ubiquity of the "Salmon Pink" name, I would guess that was the name Selmer applied to what Fender called "Fiesta Red."

Also, just because something is vintage doesn't make it good. There are loads of crappy Fenders from the '70s. Time didn't make them better. They are still crappy.

Lol

They're all good Brah ;[] I mean are you seeing these unabashed 70's Fender Lemons anywhere, or everywhere? They are everywhere, like Gold. Not a thing wrong with them.

Internet lore you know, loose pockets or whatever, I must have been lucky - and that's a bona fide fact - I've never had a bad Fender product from any decades, and my # 1 Strat for a long time now is a '74, my "Born Again" year.

She's so sweet, and light, 7lb 12oz just like I was in the beginning.

Probably. I'm just trying to point out that's what it was called to many of us in the UK, back then. It makes me laugh when I see people, who often weren't even born then, pontificating about things such as 'Salmon Pink'. Still, who cares?

I wouldn’t consider my Strat, which is 11-12 years older than yours in any way to be vintage. It’s a modern guitar.

I am vintage, so was my pre CBS Strat pictured below was vintage. The little boy holding it in 71, is now in his 50s. I stupidly sold the Strat in 1980

Great pix, John!
Cheers.
First taken with iPhone 14 in subdued lighting, while sat watching TV

Second taken with a Kodak box brownie, which I think we still have somewhere, not that it’s worth anything. It belongs to the missus, so dare not throw it out 😄
