The color of that Strat makes me think someone had been watching Hank Marvin (though Marvin's was a brighter red with gold hardware).
We all did in the early days. The pic of my Strat is a bit misleading. Taken in 1971 with a Box Brownie.
The colour was what we called Salmon Pink, back then, despite the many so called myths about this colour. I was there in the 60s and our local music shop sold a few 'Salmon Pink' Strats, as did other UK shops. These days, it appears to be called Fiesta Red, so perhaps it was a shade of that or did UK Selmer refinish them? Who knows? All I know is that they were referred to as Salmon Pink.
I had a more modern Custom Shop Strat that was Fiesta Red and that appeared to be slightly darker than my pre_CBS one. But that could be my old memory
