I have been trying to wean myself from this awful practice of wanting every guitar I see, well, almost every one I see. I've been steering clear of fleabay, and the ebay, (et al) section of LTG. However like a true addict, I have to go look from time to time (just to keep from getting the jitters).
So, that's what happened last nite .....just a quick look to kill some time. Do I need to go on with this story? The end result is that I purchased my seventh Guild...a '76 G37.
I need help, and I hear that just admitting the problem is half the battle. I guess I'll have to look for help elsewhere, cause I've pretty much figured out that you bunch of enablers are only going to encourage my addiction.
To quote the late great Earnest Tubb, "Thanks, thanks a lot ".

You know, I think there are some folks around here who might be able to help by taking some of those guitars off your hands

It's all about your point of view. Don't think of it as feeding your addiction. Look at it as HELPING JOE defeat his......

Does this help?

I have a wife to help me to curb my GAS.
She is always asking me why I need more than 1 guitar.
Her theory is that I can only play one at a time.
However I did manage to squeeze in the new baritone guitar by selling a lesser used guitar.

And I ask MY wife if she can wear more than 1 pair of shoes at a time.

Yeah, that's always good for a chuckle.

That's part of my problem, my wife says that as long as the bills are paid, she doesn't care. God,I love her! :D

My wife used to do that, but then we got her an F-30 Traditional and that means of three of the seven guitars in the house are hers. Of course that only works because she plays guitar...

Two things help me with the endless guitar urge. First, a determination to play and enjoy what I already have. Which leads directly to the next item, a willingness (obligation in fact) to part with guitars I'm not playing much.

In the last two weeks, two fine guitars came in. An Epiphone Riviera, and yesterday, Guild Bluesbird. To balance things out:

- Consigned an Airline Tuxedo for sale locally
- Long term loan, possible eventual sale of a Samick SAT650 to a friend
- Traded a Yamaha AEXC502 yesterday for a 1x12 bass cab
- Agreed to trade my Dearmond M-75T for a thinline tele
- Consigned musicman rd-50 amp locally

All of which means, no guilt whatsoever. Things are more than balanced. It also foretells the end of my guitar experiments. Everything I have at this point is equally good, equally essential in its own way. It's going to be harder to part with anything.
