hi,

can anyone point me to a source to find out what a westerly jf-65 might be worth? ebay is a dead end, and i wouldn't necessarily trust that anyway.

thanks

Less than you might think I'm afraid. There one over at AGF that's been listed for a trade value of $1250 since the middle of May with no takers. I sold mine to another board member here for something less than that. HTH

Right around $1000 - 1150, depending upon mileage, condition etc. would be my estimate.

thank you for the info. i thought that might be the case, meaning the value, not the construction.

Hi Dmoss......I bought the JF-65 from Twocorgis, and am SOoooooooo glad I did. Man, ALOT of guitar for not alot of money really........worth every dollar. hard to believe that 1200 more or less, is their relative 'monitary'value...but indeed it is. Something so nice and beautiful for THAT! CRAZY market!

Absolutely agreed SG. Stupid cheap price for a guitar that good.

i don't doubt the quality at all (like all guilds), but it would be a sign and trade deal, and it just wouldn't be worth it to me at that value point.

it is a lovely guitar though. i will admit.

Guilds pretty much always sell for less than you'd figure, quality-wise.

Great for buyers, not-so-great for sellers.

That's why I only buy Guilds, and don't sell them. :)

Saw a pretty nice Westerly JF-65 with a burst on consignment in a local shop today. I got the impression that it's been there for a while now. They're asking $1999, which seems pretty outrageous (and explains why it's still there). If the price were more in line with what people have suggested in this thread, I might consign a mandolin to get it but at the present asking price, it's just way too steep. A new J-50 could probably be had for around that price.

If you ever get a wild hair, I might be willing to let mine go.....not for $1100, but not for $2000 either.
