No not here yet Dane. It will be a while yet. Have to wait until my next set of days off 2 weeks from now.
Pity, I'm second most anxious. What are you rocking on Friday? I thought the S-275 would be making it's first stage appearance.

It probably would have, but I will go with the old trusty S-100.

Hi Dreamlander,

I understand that you don't have the S-275 yet but I was wondering if the seller gave you the serial number of that guitar. It doesn't look like a 1983 to me, so I'm just curious!

Maybe you could let me know!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

I will let you know for sure when I get the guitar Hans, but pics look like AF100091. Were there variations in these guitars during years of production? If so what?

Yes, there were minor variations but I'm still trying to figure out if these were intentionally or just sloppiness. That's why I need the serial numbers, so I can see if there's a pattern.

Photos are not clear enough to tell the exact serial number, but I would think it is a somewhat earlier model.

Let me know when you get it!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Congrats!! I was watching the same guitar. It was posted in an earlier auction that ended with no bids. When I saw it was relisted I checked it out and you had already bought it!!

I had an '81 S-250 and I assume the knobs would be the same. They are cylindrical, not tapered, and have squared notches all the way around the top of the knob. It's been 24 years since I sole the S250, so this is based solely on memory.

If you happen to have an S250 for sale, or if you come across one, please keep me in mind. Looking for Candy Apple Red, preferably.

Someone must be bored and searching the forum! Don't you have enough Guilds to keep your fingers busy, Mr Thunder?

Got you guys all excited, did I? It was meant to be an update for Guildluv in his quest to replace the four-knob '81 Candy Apple Red S-250 that he sold and then regretted doing so. Since my needs have been completely fulfilled, I'm just looked to help out others now. :D

Okay, this time, for real. I have a friend on another guitar forum who is considering selling his S-275. He has the knobs (they were off when he snapped the photo after he cleaned it up). I asked for photos of the front and back. No case, he said the condition is 9 out of 10, and he knows guitars. If anyone's interested, let me know and I'll try to broker a deal.

The serial number makes it an 1982 model. As I said, no case, but the guitar is in great shape. Here's what he said on price: "I know this may be outrageously out of line but, I'm thinking $1,350, well packaged, insured, and shipped in the USA(48). I will entertain reasonable offers. If it sells okay, if not that's okay too."

It's so much easier to say "I really don't want to sell it".

If he can get it, God bless him.
