X-375

Matsickma,

Wouldn't mind investigating this a little more. Can you take the following measurements for me?

* The width of the body across the lower bout

* The depth of the body near the tailpiece

* The scale length (I'm assuming it's a 25-1/2" scale but you never know).

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Hi Hans,

The Scale is 251/2", The body depth at the bottom bry the harp stop is a hair over 3 1/8" and the lower bout body width is 1/16" shy of 17".

RAO,

I picked up the Bigsby a while back on ebay. I saw your Duane Eddie post. Sure wish I would have went to the Summer Philly show - missed it.

I didn't think this was a Guild refinish because of the model tuner used in the replacement. I think their Schaller's and didn't line up with the origional mounting holes.

X-375

Matsickma,

OK, I believe I have an idea what's going on with your X-375 but before I type it all out I would like to check one more detail.
Can you take off the tailpiece and make a photo of the area where the hinge part of the tailpiece is fastened to the bottom part of the body?

Sincerely,

Hi Hans,

As I get to the Bigsby project I'll take a few pictures.

To RAO,

I was planning to mount the Guild Bigsby and having a little fun with it and then offering the X375 for sale with parts that include both the Harp tail and Bigsby (i.e., single guitar for twang, blues or jazz). I was figuring on selling the guitar this winter (Philly show as a start). However if your interested on the whole deal at this time let me know. We probably live near enough that you can see it in person.

Hello matsickma,

Make sure you make those detail shots before you mount the Bigsby!

Re. Your plan to sell the guitar:
It would be nice if you could tell a possible buyer what it is he's looking at!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Off topic...this is probably like noticing how many other cars there are like yours after you buy something new.

Noticing how many of you guys are in PA. Big state I know, but I have some family there & just had something of a job interview out there.

Hi Hans & All,

I got pictures of the the X375 area under the tailpiece. The Guild tailpiece hid earlier markings from the origional stop. I also included a picture of the 3 Franz PuPs, covers off and one removed, and the name tag under the F-hole. The Franz Pup's were the cleanest I've ever seen. The plastic bobbins looked perfect.

Hope this gives you the info you.

Hi Guild Gang,

For those of you who wondered about what happened to this guitar, well I sold it in December to a great guy on the West Coast. I was love at first sight for him. He remembered playing a blond one in the early 1960's and decided to by mine. It certaintly found a good home.

Correction: I was not love at first sight for him!!!

It (the guitar) was love at first sight. (I am lost without a spell checker!)
