Just finished an acoustic guitar. The story behind this one is that it was started by another luthier also from the same area that I am. Sadly he passed away before he could finish the guitar. The guitar was commissioned by a friend who is a local guitar teacher, for his son, who lives in Nashville. Bob Huckabee ( the first luthier) only got the body put together, and that was as far as he got. The body and the rest of the materials sat around for the next 4 years. When I got it, the body still needed the binding installed, the neck made, the inlay work, bridge installed, and finishing, along with the electronics installed and setup. The guitar has solid quilt maple back and sides and a nice Sitka top that show quite a lot of silking.
It is also a jumbo sized, deep bodied guitar. It sounds great, with the clarity that maple provides, but it also has very good bass response due to it's size.

Here are a few pictures, since we love pictures.

Magnificent Tom! I remember you telling me about this on a while back, and it's great to see it in finished form. Beautiful work there.

Amazing job, Tom. Love the block inlays on the fretboard and the maple is beautiful!! It's good to know you finished what Bob started.... a fitting tribute.

The label was designed by Ron Brunk's father, who brought the guitar to me to finish. BTW, Ron has some stuff on YouTube. I'm looing forward to seeing him play it when he post some more after he gets the guitar.
