Can't wait until we get to read and hear some reviews.

That's not the only thing they're shipping. Thanks for the heads up, Walter.

(Happy birthday to me......happy birthday to me....)

My birthday is only in September - gives me time to save! That X175 looks great, and the top is indeed spruce (there was some uncertainty in my mind).

If someone gets ahold of the Starfire Bass with the new 'Bi-Sonic' pickup, please please find a way to compare it with one of the 'old BiSonic' pickups!!

No worries. I think twocorgis and I are both highly likely to play one, if not buy, and we both have vintage basses for comparison. My dealer was vague on delivery - said he was expecting things in May but did not actually confirm or deny that the Starfire Bass would be one of them. There has been some speculation on LTG that the bass may be shipping later than some of the other models although I have forgotten why I believed that to be plausible. And yeah, we could have this conversation in Bass.

What Frono said, Harry. Just waiting for word that they're in the supply chain, and I'll be off to try one. The fit an finish on them looks great, and if the video on Guild's website is and indication, I expect the sound to be on or close.

I do not need another guitar. I have a few very nice old Guilds. I just paid for a new roof for my house back in Florida. I don’t even gig for the time being, and I don’t play all that much either.

However, I am so tempted to get an X175B just because I am very curious. I could think of it as a selfless, fact-finding mission for the forum and do it out of the kindness of my heart. :)

Signature is required and delivery is scheduled for tomorrow. Can't allow work to prevent a NGD, so I rerouted it to a 24-hour FedEx facility a couple miles from my place.
