Hi all. New here and fairly new guitar player. Coming up on two years since retiring. A left handed player so options can be limited. Considering the Guild Westerly M-120. I would like a smaller body, short scale guitar. These are about at the top of my price range. I'm currently mostly playing an Eastman E1D. I like it but would like a comparable quality solid wood smaller size guitar too. Finding left handed guitars in shops to try is not usually possible. Not a lot of guitar shops in my rural area. I play acoustic blues, John Prime, roots/Appalachian? type stuff without a pick. Thanks for thoughts and opinions.

Welcome to the boards! Sounds like you know what you want. I'm also far from any music store and have bought most of my guitars online. There are a few brand new left-handed M-120s on reverb.com with free shipping and gig bag, which takes away the question of "Is it in good condition?" They're listed at right around 700 bucks, but they often have a "make offer," so apparently you can do a little negotiating. I also have an all-solid-wood, all-mahogany made in China Guild, not an M120 but a D125-12... It has a really glossy polyurethane finish and sounds a lot richer than its inexpensive price. I expect you'll be happy with a new M120. Best of luck!

I do have one of the m120’s and I like it, a lot. I do some fingerstyle bluesy stuff and it handles it with aplomb. All solid wood, good prices used, not terribly expensive new. It’s a fun little guitar, and a nice alternative for me with my collection.

Not quite the same thing. But I recently picked up an M240 and I'm kind thrilled with it for what it is. With a Fishman Rare Earth humbucker it's become a great gig guitar, and I even brought it to a recording session on Monday. I paid $250 (plus tax and shipping) and it's more than worth it.

Welcome to the board! Given my experience with the slightly larger OM-120, I'd say you should have a lot of fun with that little guitar.
