BTW Thx to everyone for putting up with my frequent posts lately.
I've been getting through 5 Melanoma skin cancer surgeries....these are not fun.
Lots of recovery time which brought me back to what I enjoy most . Guitars and music.

Quite a bit of time to put things in perspective.
....I have too many guitars and amps....

Sold quite a few guitars and amps and found what I liked most among the herd. Yeah a couple of purchases sales
along the way but sold some archtops: a few being my Epiphone casino, Gretsch Clipper, and an ES275 with p90s.
Falling back on ol' faithful I started to see if a Guild could fill the hollow bodies I sold. I was actually going to buy the Starfire 3 limited in Black.
But the M75 won and glad it did.

First impression right out of the damaged shipping box was - WOW! what a looker
Played it only a few minutes and immediately knew it was a keeper. Not sure I'm going to keep the 11's on her and pickups are
hotter than my old Newark sunburst. Of all my guitars it reminds me of the Epiphone Casino for some reason,
although I actually like the M75 little better.

To be honest right out of the box it is a player. May have been Elderly's set up but I'd gig this tonight.
My #1 is my 61 Esquire, I kept my Strat in my thinning of the herd because the Strat was my first real Electric
when I was younger and feels right at home

Anyway, the M75 LTD in Black is super!
Geez,
If I can't cover all the basses with this crew - I might as well jump.

As far as the pickups on these I'd say for what ever reason these are a little hotter than my Sunburst Newark M75 from a few years back.
I think, after playing it through the amps, a real P90 wind is an overkill on this guitar.
Rather a Novak Franz is probably a better choice if you want to change the pickup.
Fit and finish is extremely good on this one.

That's the reason I sold mine. I just couldn't tweak the tone to my liking. If the pickups were height-adjustable, it might have been a different story.

I had the same reaction when I bought the NS Gold Top M-75 Aristocrat. I really love this guitar, and it's the Guild I play most often.

I've been tweaking it here and there to nail the setup. As mounted, the harp tailpiece pulled the strings slightly more towards the high E, so I placed some felt washers underneath around one of the mounting screws to get it aligned correctly. I've fine tuned the nut and put a Gotoh bridge on mine to get a better action. I'm still working on rings to mount some NOS Dearmond Dynasonics. Also still pondering a Bigsby, which I may do when I get the new pickups in.

I tried to set up a Newark Aristocrat with a Bigsby a few years back but after checking the angle off the bridge saddle I decided not to.
Not saying it couldn't be done or work but tuning stability may be compromised and leave guitar less desirable to play.
But give it a shot and let's us know how it works out.

I've come to the same conclusion. Don't like the 11's... Gonna switch out to a set of 10's and see if I like it better.

I've been looking at the Novak's as well, but admittedly haven't given it enough time to conclude a pickup swap is neccessity just yet.

Glad you like yours!

F30, Sorry to hear you're going through all the surgeries. I hope all is well with you.

You wrote: "....I have too many guitars and amps..." I hear you. I have the same problem. Guitars and amps in storage that I have played in a decade or more. Herd thinning is needed.

A black Strat was my first real electric too and I still have it. A 1990 MIM in black with mods I did to it electrically and cosmetically.
