M75 Tailpiece

I just found out something about tailpieces for M75/M65 that I never noticed. I have an M75 hinged tailpiece on ebay right now. A guy asked me to measure from the tip of the harp (high E side) to the hinge. It measured about 6.25 inches. I pulled out my full scale M65 (also on ebay) and measured the same dimension and it measured 5.75 inches. Are there two distinct tailpieces for an M65 and M75? I'm sure it would work on the M65 unless I'm not aware of something.

I second this question.

I just bought a 1960 Aristocrat (still in transit), which is original except for a Gibson tailpiece. I know a guy who has several spare harp tailpieces, all of them about 6.25"; anyone know if these would fit (screw spacing aside), or if it would be too close to the bridge for some reason?
