Please forgive if this has come up before on this forum but..,
Has anyone heard anything about the new Martin Jumbo 12 string? Looks like a direct knock-off of the 512. The Mandolin Bros website includes some chatter about trying to get Guild to reintroduce the 612 and that the Martin is the "next best thing"...anyone play one yet?

timbo this is Jimbow, I like Martin Guitars and I think they make fine guitars but, the New Jumbo 12 is a new design and while I think they would be fine I would spend less money and get a Guild F-512. Check out this link:
http://used.guitarcenter.com/usedGear/index.cfm
Type Guild in the Keyword window and choose Guitar from the Select Category drop down box directly below and hit Search Now at the bottom and look for the nice used F-512 they have listed it is antique Burst finish and it looks great.
If you want more info on the Martin call Elderlys and speak with them. They can tell you much.

Thanks guys, I've owned a couple of 512's over the yrs including the one I have now. I was just curious if anyone has tried the new Martin.
Still on the hunt for a 612,,, wish me luck.

If you find one I get dibs on playing it after you so you'll have to send me you location when you find it. I think one of those would get me back to playing a 12 again :D and I am sure the lady I play with at church would like to try one as she plays a Washburn Festival series 12 and she has to tune it about every 10 minutes, I don't know if its the guitar or her ears but, I never did have to tune my F-212 that much.
