CK, great find. Great story and great performance.

Dread, yeah I *think* that's a D-50, but I'm not 100% sure. It sure sounds like rosewood to me, but if not it would be a D-40.

I can't tell if that is a mahogany or rosewood Guild. I had a D-40 for several years, and it sounds like a D-40. But really, my ear is not that good.

I emailed to Verlon asking if it was a D-40 or D-50. My guess is a D-40, just sounds to me like that mahogany sound that I need to get in a six stringer.

I heard that song on the radio yesterday; KNBT out of New Braunfels TX. I remember saying to myself, I sure hope they play that song more so I can find out who plays it. Needless to say I'm very happy you posted this!

Thanks!

I first viewed it this morning, and still can’t find the right words. What a song, what great playing!

I guess “awesome” is pretty close.

Terrific video.

Man that is awesome indeed. Another one ot add to the list. I'm a huge Guy Clark fan, and am surprised I hadn't heard of Verlon before.

It looks a heck of a lot (and sounds a heck of a lot) like my Tacoma D-50 BS...in tone, of course it sounds WAY better than mine in actuality because "I" play mine, not him.

Absolutely great, thanks for posting. Since they both look alike it's either a D50 or D40. The dark back wood seems to suggest a d50, though. Regardless, what a sound.
