Was bass fishing last week and didn't do much good fishing but scenery was awesome. And at right of picture you can see the barge this cruise ship/boat just passed. River not 300 yards wide.

Not sure Frono but think this one goes from Nashville to St. Louis and travels on the Cumberland river, then the Tennessee river, and then the Mississippi. Feel sure this was headed back to Nashville. It has to lock through several dams on each river.

I have cruised on several US rivers including the Cumberland, Tennessee, Ohio and Mississippi.

A fun trivia fact that as far as I know is still true is that cruise ships that carry passengers on the rivers often have a post office on board. The presence of the post office lets them go to the front of any line of vessels that are waiting to pass through a lock. "The mail must go through" and the ability to cut in line makes easier to adhere to a schedule that is subject to a lot of other pressures such as flooding, fog and mechanical breakdowns at locks and on the vessel.

"Now you know the rest of the story". That is an interesting factoid.
