The latest Stupid Deal Of The Day got me thinking:
The F2512ce Deluxe would scratch my maple jumbo itch, but I'd have to borrow to get it.
So I thought I'd A-B my new G312 and my F112 to see if I could bring myself to sell one. While the G312 clearly sounds better, the F112 has it's charms.
Bottom line is I'll let the F2512 pass for now, maybe next SDOTD.

It looks nice, but I wouldn't sell a Made-in-US Guild in order to get a Made-in-China Guild. If you're itching for a maple jumbo, I'd save up and keep my eyes open for a good deal on a JF30-12. I'm surprised at the prices they're getting for these nowadays, but sold listings on reverb show that at least one in pretty good shape went for less then $1,000. Patience, grasshopper. ;)

I second the "but I wouldn't sell a Made-in-US Guild in order to get a Made-in-China Guild." I just picked up an M240e (also made in China). But only because I found it for $250 and it solved a problem for me (my other short-scale/gig guitar is driving me crazy), and I actually preferred the sound of the M240e to both the M120 and the current M20.

The J30-12 suggestion is a good one.

@portsider, no offense to the MIC Guilds, and credit where credit is due. Really... But, I agree with the other folks! Especially on the 12-string front. Find another US-built 12er. You'll find tremendous values with those too. Just one man's opinion, of course.

I gotta admit, I picked up a used GAD D125-12 just because it was such a good deal, and it sounds amazingly good. Of course, it's a GAD......

The GAD 25 12 string was an extremely nice guitar. All mahogany (solid) and quite a unique sound. I'm pretty sure I posted a review of that one years ago, but I can't find it.

I agree the USAs are totally superior and I quickly abandoned toe silly thought of letting one go.
I have a D2612CE thatI use with my band and it's really nice instrument. While the JF3012 would be great, I could get an F2512CE for about 1/3 the price. Time will tell. I may just decide the grass is green enough on my side of the fence and stand pat with what I have.

Disclaimer: I have not tried a Westerly series F-2512, portsider. Good luck in your choices!
@wileypickett likes them! The one I tried I thought sounded a bit brittle. That was also my take on the D260ce that I bought as a SDotD some time back.
