Hi tomek; here's some more on Greco, one of the other manufacturer's threatened by Gibson ... they were also the source of the first MIJ Fenders. Historic Guitar article

I think you'll have the Japanese equal to the Gibson Les Paul, they pretty much copied the Gibsons, and Martins at this time.. resulting in a stop doing that lawsuit from both companies ...

Hi Steffan, I'd rather have a top-grade, 25 year-old Greco than a 2 year-old, low/middle price Les Paul ....

As ever, there are moral and ethical issues associating with cloning ....

Hey tomek,

Here's a great site with scans for all the Ibanez catalogs from 1971 to 2007! And okay, they list Ibanez' golden age from '75 to '81. So my opinion touches some common ground.
