I’ve been wanting a Guild 12 string since I was younger and now the day has finally come. I’m having a bit of trouble dating it so any help would be much appreciated. So far I’d guess it’s a 72 or 73.

Looks like baby checking, just starting, it'll get better. I'd be tempted to take it outside when it's 0º and then bring it back in the house, does wonder if that's what you like ;[]

As far as cleaning, a damp cotton (old t shirt) cloth, or your breath works as good as anything,

If I have serious cleaning issues to deal with, I use Meguiars Cleaner/Wax, no silicones in their products.

Wax on wax off.

Never EVER EVER squirt any product - or apply wax - on a guitar! Spray or apply a little on your cloth and rub away.

1973 was a great year for Guild.

^So sayeth Hans^, from memory here maybe the best for flattops?

My '73 D35 one off with open back Grovers. I need to give that guitar a hug.

So it's got all these things going for it; Gorgeous shading on the top, gorgeous Peruvian Mahogany that Guild had a stash of, super light, Grovers, get it home price $600 just a few years ago, and the build consctruction is just so incredibly nice, and the materials, has a noticeably cool "raindrop" pattern in the top.

Luckily the forum was there to help me realize these instruments were out there before it was to late.

That's some lowly Sitka not fit for a better guitar like a D40 or some fancy F job.
