I wonder if I can unwrap it when she is out ...play it awhile...and then rewrap it before she gets back without her knowing?
(I got good at that as a kid but it's been a long time ago)
Jimi,

I'm afraid it's time to work out some sort of trade with your wife. There's no way I could wait, and all this razzle-dazzle with the unwrap/rewrap really sucks.

Promise her anything, but unwrap that Guild and play it now!! You're driving me a little nuts here!!

Just a little sage advice,

gee honey, I needed the serial number and some close-up digital photos (which I could also share with my LTG buddies) so I could contact our insurance company and get it added to our policy... :D

gee honey, it's the winter heating season and I needed to open it again so I could put one of those humidifier thingies in it so the wood doesn't crack! :D

Gee honey, I needed to re-open it to add water to that little humidifier thingie...

All good suggestions, I might add :D

How about this tack.....
Gee honey, I'll go absolutely stark-raving mad if I can't release this Guild from its bondage and play it....this GAS is something I just can't describe and I really don't want to have to call 911 and go to the ER but....but....honey, you still there?

Whatever it takes,
Joe

Those are some good "gee honey" excuses...especially the need to get the serial number for insurance puposes one. 8)
But, just think how great Christmas morning will be though...a mint DV-52 with brand new strings on it to open, play, and enjoy!
I can wait. The anticipation will just make me apreciate it even more when I open it up.
I'll have a holly jolly Christmas for sure!
