I think the last time I actually wore a Halloween costume was about 25 yrs ago. Was going to a big private ritzy party in downtown Annapolis w/ a few friends in the know. I didn't plan on anything and just scoured a few closets and made a costume. I took an old picture frame, cut out the backing so it was just the rectangular frame. Then I made a hanger out of a coat hanger so I could hang the frame on my shoulders. Took an old suit, white dress shirt, and tie, put it on and stood in the bathroom mirror and marked lines where it was just inside the frame. Then I took scissors and cut the suit/shirt/tie. I then put on old tore up jeans and work boots, and a long sleeve tie dye t shirt...then the suit/shirt/tie on top of that.....and it wound up being the star costume of the night. I wound up winning around $200 in their costume contest, which my friends instisted, and I begrudgingly entered. I am still proud of that costume. It was totally a spur of the moment thing, and a real attention getter. I only wish I had pictures of it. A ratty construction worker outside the frame, a Dapper Dan inside the frame. A walking illusion.
