photos and eBay auctions

I do remember on this particular guitar, the seller had taken a bunch of very impressive indoor pictures.

Hello everybody,

Sorry to change the subject of the thread but it turns out that good photography helps a lot when you're selling a high quality guitar. Not only does it give the buyer the opportunity to see the item really well, but it will also show the imperfections. Usually people appreciate it when you show those as well, so there will be no surprises afterwards.

Here's one of the eBay auctions I had not too long ago. It turned out really well for me and everybody was happy! I believe the photos helped a lot.

P.S. Sorry it's not a Guild!

Hey Hans,

If I sold a guitar on Ebay for $7500, I would be proud if it had been an ACME brand. Congratulations!

Magnus,

When an American tourist comes to Sweden with a new Guild guitar, do the customs or border guards ask for the tourist to declare the guitar? If not, I will buy a Guild for $3,000 here, and take it there and sell it for $4,000. I would get a free trip, and a Swede would get a guitar for $1,000 less.

Somehow I think the law prevents this.

If you have the warranty paper with you and get caught in customs you probably have to declare it when you leave the country, but if you don't you claim it's your travel guitar and you can easy sell a guitar like you just wrote 8) But it might take a while, the market for high end acoustics are cold as ice
