does any body have any input on the new guild d-55's. i might be looking to sell some guitars to buy a new d-55 sunburst . any input , thanks gmcdeadhead

I've got a 2010 D-55 (burst).
It still new and a bit 'tight,' but its a great sounding guitar that easy to play. Quality of construction is excellent, and she should last a long time.

how much are they going for these day's? did you play a few of them or did you get it on line? thanks
Well I've seen MSRPs round 2.5k or so, but if you look around, they can be found for less.
I had already purchased a couple of New Hartford Guilds already, and I liked what I saw, so I took a chance and ordered one, not having played it at all. They are simply too hard to find around my area (Atlanta, GA).
Anyways, I bought mine from Bing (he's a dealer who is also a forum member here). Bing's a standup guy and he'll definitely keep you in the loop at all times. I definitely recommend that you go through a trustworthy dealer like him.
Anyways, I'm extremely happy with it. She's one of my most resonant guitars and I'm sure she'll age beautifully.

One of our local indies has a few new Guilds on order, so far only a D-55 in stock. I didn't have time even to look at it last week when I was there, but I intend to check it out soon-hopefully before our LTG tour. I'd seriously consider trading my D-50 and Chet CE if I liked it and could get within striking distance with a trade.

Not sure if I can answer your questions about trade-ins, etc...
I would definitely give Bing a call and see what he can do for you. Keep in mind D-55s seem to be in short supply (at least they were when I was looking), so there may be a short waiting list.
