the T500 and GSR whitewood were a Donnie Wade project from Tacoma. At the tour, the new whitewood bodies were from "elsewhere" and they did not specify where to my group. The APs are completely built at NH.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but who is Donnie Wade?

Guild Anti-hum's...repro's of the 60's mini buckers. Just like George Barnes played!

That's what the listing says, but the covers are a different shape. The covers on this guitar are oversized and the pole pieces are also different. These are not the same pickups as the 60's anti-hum pickups.

This is what I mean. The pickups on the GSR X-500 are not the same pickups on the GSR M-75, even though the text says they are:

To me the problem is in pricing. There is a clear difference between the T-500 and T-400, and between the X-180 and X-500, yet they are all priced exactly the same.

This defies all laws of marketing but not of logic. Obviously production costs are more or less identical, so they sell for the same price. It's just us that aren't used to this logic anymore. And it sure makes it hard to sell the supposedly simpler models.

Man, that X500 is one beautiful guitar!
In keeping with this Christmas season, amen to that!

As for production costs being the same I am not sure about that. Using the T-500 and T-400 as examples, much more binding on the T-500, and it also has an ebony board versus rosewood. Those differences should at least amount to a few hundred dollars, but that is purely speculation as I do not know the actual cost of materials, nor do I know how many extra production hours went into installing all of the binding on the T-500.
