Hey everyone, first time poster here. Thanks for hosting a lovely site! I've been totally enjoying LTG since I put this one on layaway last month. I sold a couple of things, and picked this up today!

1966 T100D with OHSC. I'd say it's in excellent condition, couple of small dings, scratches, etc. Someone must have played only cowboy chords on this because, the frets have zero wear past the 5th. Missing pickguard of course. It just started raining, so any little beads you see on the headstock are raindrops  Seems like the tone pot on the neck pickup was disconnected, not sure why. They look original, and pretty FONKY! But the bridge tone pot is operational. The neck is straight, action is great all over the board, and there is plenty of wiggle room to adjust the bridge up or down.

I'm planning on setting it up with some flatwounds, and using this with my family band!

Droo~

Ditto to what txbumper wrote. I just sold one of these and it was really nice although yours is in better shape than mine was. You're gonna like this one I'm quite sure

Yeah, that's a pretty one! Flatwounds…good idea. Besides the classic sound & feel they'll intonate well (the wound G in particular) with your bridge.

Thanks all ya'll! I'm pretty excited. This is my first Guild, ever. First time I've even played one!

Did a bit of a setup this morning, threw on some TI Flats, 10's. Not heavy enough. I'm thinking to go up to 11's. I've got 12 flats on my Eastman which is also short scale, so I may even just jump to 12s.

These Mickey Mouse pups are thinner than I'm used to. And they are raised up to the max. My Eastman as a HB sized P90 on in, and the Tele has fairly hot singles. The Mickeys must be underwound a bit perhaps? Any thoughts? Do people change out Micky Mouse pups for the Franz style P-90's? I don't want to carve any holes out on this top.

But ... I am starting to think about screwing a couple of dogears onto the top?? What do you think of that idea?

This thing intonates as well as any other guitar I've got...so that is great news. All in all, this has been a GREAT day!

Thanks for the welcome :)

I'm not shy...so I won't hesitate to ask questions.

I'm a fan of TI strings too, the Jazz Swings in particular.

As for the pickups, I'd leave 'em alone unless you really can't make 'em work. Most of the pickup swaps I've ever done have later been undone. But then I go for a wide variety of sounds. If your thing sonically is more specific you can happily ignore me. :)

That's a beauty! I have tried Ti flats on my Artist Award, but it responded better to Ti round 13's. As for my X-500 and Aristocrat flats are much better. Ti's were good, but to me D'Addario Chromes are better and save me a lot of money.

Enjoy your new guitar!

Oh man, no doubt! Those Chromes are so much better priced.

Two things I love about Ti's though.
~The lighter tension,
~My favorite tone is a dead flatwound through a single coil. These Ti's last me a year! I love a good meaty `thud ;)

No, you are so right Dave. The string swap was the ticket for me. I really am digging the sound of the Mickey Mouse pickups now. They aren't quite a Telecaster single, they aren't quite a Jazzbox with a P90. They seem to hover somewhere perfectly between, to my ole ears.

Me likey!

Congrats and welcome! Beautiful guitar - it looks like it's in great shape! I don't have any experience with the Mickey Mouse pu's, but it's easier to take away treble than add it if the pickups are too dark. Live with it as is for a while and see if you can make it work (sounds like you already are!)

Yeehaw Jeff. My sentiments exactly. I would never in a million years call these pups dark. But some thick flats, and playing through an old Silverface Princeton Reverb with the tone rolled off a bit at the amp....jazz guitar for days :encouragement:
