Well I'm new here, but have been lurking for awhile. Finally purchased and am awaiting arrival of a new D55E. Just looking for any advice or tips with this guitar, though I expect it to be pretty much ready to go out of the box.
That was the hopes with this one. I was able to play a few Martin's at a local shop, but only found one there that really had the depth and the lows that I was looking for. It also had a nearly $5000 price tag.I bought my last brand new Guild in 1976, "Louise," I still have her, a D25M with spruce top. She literally has thousands of hours of play time.
The anticipation! The waiting! Only 60 hours to go!Should be here Tuesday!
Welcome to LTG, secrest! You can start out with a dreadnought and make the jumbo your next guitar! And then what about a 12-string? I highly recommend 'em!Went back and forth on a d55 or an f55 for some time, and hopefully I made the right choice.....
I live in Northern California. It's been in the 40s to 50s lately. How cold are we talking here?If you're located somewhere cold, don't forget to let the box acclimate inside for 24 hours before opening it; otherwise, you'll get checking on that nice new finish. Yes, the 24 hour wait is agonizing.
They've been super helpful the whole time! I thought it was really cool they send you pictures of your guitar before they ship it!Sweetwater does a good job shipping. It should be ready to go. Maybe tune it up some. Congratulations.
