The serial number is AK500053.

Hello again,

Serial # AK500053 would make it an X-500T from the year 2000.

Sincerely,

This is great Hans. Thanks you. Can you tell me how that you dated this? If this info is available to the public, I would love to be able to access it. It would be most helpful when purchasing any further Guild guitars. (I'd like an x 170 or a Starfire III P90 1 day!) I'm probably not interested in vintage guitars at this point b/c eventhough I think that vintage instruments are wonderful, I'm not in a financial position to become a collector! Plus, I just enjoy playing. Any information you could provide would be most helpful. Thank you so much. :) ... BTW, I did see the chart on the Guild website, but couldn't seem to make heads or tails of it in the 1994-1997 era. Hmmmmmm.......Thanks again for the help.

Yeow! That's gorgeous... and the only thing better than a P90 is two P90s!

For dates through 1977 see Han's book. For dates after that he uses information gathered for Volume II from various sources including factory ledgers rescued from a dumpster.

FYI...
Hans is the author of The Guild Guitar Book, and has been compiling information on Guild guitars for many years, so if you have any questions he is the one to ask. The first volume goes from 1953 to 1977. A second volume spanning 1978 through the present is currently underway, and is probably what Hans is working on at this very moment in the interest of getting it out to us all as soon as possible, right Hans?
