I just found this auction for a 1970 Bluesbird. This one looks closer to the new model.

Obviously it has the trapeze tailpiece, wooden bridge and HB-1s. But you can see the influence more from this one with the figured maple top.

Yep. Here's a pic from last night of my hollow Bluesbird, also a '70. I've been playing it a lot this week, tuning my ears to its pickups in prep for the NS Thunderbird currenty en route to my guitar bunker. :)

It's a maple top (maple back & sides too) but the noise/grain from my phone camera does give it a more spruce-like texture. :laughing:
