First post. I have been lurking around here for a while and I really like this forum. I have really enjoyed learning about Guild acoustic guitars and the people that frequent this forum seem to be nice and civil to each other unlike a lot of the other forums. My background: I started playing about 20 or so years ago then put it down, sold my "nice" guitars. Got back into playing about 1 year ago. I am just a hack and very below average. But I am a pianist and trombone player and I do appreciate good tone. I like to strum a few chords and sing a bit, amusing myself and irritating my wife! I have a very nice 2021 D18 and as of today a 2019 D40 Traditional! The D18 set a very high bar, but this D40 is most excellent and right there with it in tone, fit, and finish, etc. I just love love the sound of a good mahogany dreadnaught and this D40 is it! It sounds good with fingers and flatpick. It is a gorgeous burst that pictures don't do justice. I actually prefer the neck profile of the Guild over the Martin I think, that is my early impression anyway. The bass seems stronger than the D18 also.

I will go back to lurking now.

Beautiful guitar you have! That's a really nice sunburst finish.
Enjoy it and welcome!

Welcome to LTG, and I love my 2022 D40 Traditional! It can hang with any mahogany dreadnought I've ever owned or played.

Awesome! I just bought a 2018 in natural finish. It’s fabulous. Love the burst on yours.

So, Welcome.

Tonebone88, that is a great looking guitar. I was not really a burst fan, but after seeing several on the forum and now yours, I think I may need to pick one up. No enabling or encouragement needed from others. Like you, I lurked on the forum before jumping in the deep end...As you know, any issue or questions about Guilds (and other guitars) can be had here...I had one Guild when I was lurking and up to four now, with my eyes on a couple more!...In fact, i have been stalking a D40 Traditional for a few weeks now (someone posted it on Online Offerings today), and may need to pull the trigger....Cheers, Dave

We really oughta post a warning about that kind of stuff on the forum home page. It's gettin' kinda serious.

"Abandon guitar monogamy, all ye who enter here"
"Mehrere Gitarren macht frei"
"2 is better than 1. 5 is better than 2. 9 is better than 5. How big is your house?"
