Hey all. Just thought to share my recent addition. I’ve had an odd relationship I’d say with guild electrics . I’ve had a starfire 4 from 79 that I recently sold to a member here and obviously I have some regret but happy none the less . Also a starfire 2 that was a great guitar but couldn’t get along with the neck joining at the 14th . Lastly, one that I sold was a 76 m80 that was also great just way to similar to my les Paul. I must say that the quality level on all the guitars has been outstanding. So, that leads to this which I think is the best guild guitar I’ve ever played . Firstly it sounds amazing and it weighs less than my strat . Aesthetically it’s exactly what I love about old guitars . Has checking all over and a well preserved aging feel. Anyway since joining this forum the info has been very abundant and useful . Thank you to all the members that have helped . Jeff

Congrats! Beautiful Starfire IV. I love mine with the full sized HB-1s and recently picked up a vintage Guild with the AntiHum Mini-Humbuckers that sounds amazing as well. Lots of JHS pedals on that board! Can't go wrong with that set up.

Thanks . Yeah I was curious what the minis would sound like . Very happy ..I think they have a little more clarity than the hb1s but they retain a nice low end too . Jhs is the most transparent company I’ve ever seen 😂 they do get my business and this guitar sounds crazy with the fuzz , tremolo, and phaser.

Super nice! Congrats! I just bought a '69 Starfire IV with anti-hum pickups on Reverb. Can't wait to get it.
Curious which pedals you like with the anti-hum pickups? Which overdrive pedal in particular.

Thanks ! So far everything is going great pedal wise. I really like the overdrive channel on the blackstar. It’s kinda Marshall like. I’ll use a fuzz and a couple of preamp pedals before and after . The neck pickup is bassy and strong really pushes while still staying clear and the bridge cuts right in . I think you’ll like the anti hums . And the pickups are super quiet 😂 crystal clean.
