I made it home through the wet weather on the train and subway with the new Guild in hand. No big surprises when I saw it in person. I knew the heel cap had been replaced with a rosewood one and it needed a little clean and polish. I cleaned it up, polished the frets, oiled the board and put on some new strings. It looks much better now. Not bad for being over 50 years old. It has not been a case queen but it has held up well. The only item that really shows wear is the typical thin gold plating on the pickups. I need to set it up for my string gauge and such and spend more time playing it.
