Awesome S100 but to be honest I’m liking the black M75 in the first post a little bit more. 🙂

Fair enough, it's a good one too! Completely different vibe, more jazz-box than a rock guitar - lots of "air" in the tone with less focus for leads but a sublime rhythm tone. On the other hand the S-100 is a big chimey hammer that wants to play leads and jangle.

Big Chimey Hammer is an excellent way to describe the S-100 sound.

Congrats! So nice!!
Now I wish NS guild would put this color out again so I can get one.
I always thought the nature boys were carved tops but if guild wrote NB then I guess the walnut color /no carve is also nature boy too. Never knew!

Anyone know if these are easier to play at the highest neck frets than a Strat? My Strat has that squared off neck joint that gets in the way.

I mean the guitar is in great shape after having being in that original case all this time, so there only two things we can infer:

Theses case really are garbage, thank God the guitar's still ok.

The guitar needs another - better - case ASAP.

In my experience, yes, but marginally so. The upper fret access is good, but nothing like an SG. The S-100 actually has a pretty substantial neck joint, which is probably why it feels much more solid than an SG, and the neck doesn’t bend out of tune as easily. That said, due to the taper out at the heel of the neck, it isn’t super easy to reach the top frets. Better than a Strat though…

Agreed - the S-100 hangs more like a Jazzmaster than an SG. So while the neck feels long, it's not quite the degree of "to the left" as it is on an SG. I like both feels, just depends on what you need. That said, I rarely find myself above the 15th fret, so most guitars feel about the same to me for upper-fret access.

Gotcha loud and clear here. It's definitely done its job, despite its humble nature. I'll be looking into a heavy-duty Gator case for gigging duties.

I was just looking at both my SG and S-100 and noticed the neck joins the body as very different places. The strap button on the neck heel is aligned with the 16th fret on the S-100, whereas it’s aligned with the 20th fret on the SG. Pretty significant difference for upper fret access, as well as how the guitar sits on a strap, as you alluded to. I never noticed this before but it does explain why they feel so different, even though they look similar.
