I purchased this back in the summer. It need some pretty major repairs: neck reset, crack repairs (it looked like it had some kind of water damage at the base), finish touch ups (I just wanted touch ups to maintain the vintage look), and bridge repair so I sent it to Tom Jacobs and just received it back. It was worth the wait and Tom did an amazing job. Love this guitar, it's very fun to play-really comfy medium neck, pretty lightweight, probably about 7lbs, and the early HB-1s have a distinct sound quite different from the HB-1s on my '75 Starfire II. Hard to describe except to say they have a warm vintage PAF type growl, they are not as clean and microphonic as the '75s. Then there is the burst finish, curious if anyone has seen this on other Guilds? I like it so much I'm going to refrain from adding a pickguard for now. (it didn't come with one)
