I teased this a few days ago, as it was listed in Online Offerings and I mentioned I picked it up. If you saw the sales post, it was a rather interesting posting. 2022 D40 Traditional. It is in excellent condition, with no blemishes. Also came with a LR Baggs Anthem pickup. I finally cleaned it up and put new strings on (D'Addario XS Phospher Bronze lights) and it sounds great.

Thought I would display the 2022 D40 Traditional with my 1975 G212, which I understand is basically a D40-12...(If I am wrong on that, they still look good next to each other)...DaveIMG_0537.jpg

I don't remember if there was ever a D-40 12-string, 3C4S. There may actually have been such a model (with Guild you run into this kind of confusion all the time). But, yes, you're right. The G-212 is basically that. By way of comparison, the G-312 is the 12-string version of the D-50. Why? Well, someone thought that naming was a good idea at the time. :)

For the record, your modern, Oxnard-built D-40 Traditional, which is almost universally loved by our membership, has some significant build differences from the D-40 of the era that your G-212 was built. But, they definitely belong on a wall together, and I like it!!!

What is the picture on the wall of? Just curious.

Picture is a bunch of Martin's from Gruhn Guitars...Bought it from an artist at local art show. He comes every year and I looked at it for a couple years before pulling the trigger after finishing my basement...Apparently I can go to his website and he has a list of all the guitars in the photo. He titled it "All Guitars go to heaven."

Yes, I know the build specs are different, but based off same model...Kind of like buying a 1968 and 2022 Mustang. Name is the same, they are similar, but different technology.
