I acquired this fine example. TRC obviously not original, but a replacement NOS one is on the way.

You got what looks like a nice closet guitar. Bet it sounds pretty nice too.

I like the maple TRC myself.
I actually do also, so I might keep it on the guitar. But I still want the NOS TRC

The prior owner also replaced the bridge pins with ebony pins, which did not look right to me, so I replaced them with bone pins

This one is from 1984, first production year. Seems to have been hardly played at all.

I have had mixed results with maple guitars, but this one sounds great. Clear, loud for its size, but not too bright sounding.
Beautiful guitar, stunning example, congrats! I had the later rosewood version and found it to be very balanced. The Engelmann top and overall workmanship on these is top notch. I’m guessing the maple version is as well.

Absolutely beautiful awagner! The tuning machines look the same as the ones on my 1986 D66. That Maple is remarkable.

Awagner,

That may be a Thalia TRC on there. You can get them with G-shields that are pretty cool (see link below). And if you get one in ebony, that might be more suited to your taste for that headstock. Just FYI:

Sweet! I've always loved the "diamond" inlays on the models from that year!

I have been looking for one of these since I missed out on one that was for sale here on the site. I love the diamond inlays, I wish they would bring them back!
