My first Guild, a Tacoma D40. Now what should be my second - any suggestions for a smaller bodied vintage Guild guitar to keep this company, not parlour though.

Fantastic, congrats! I'd say an F-30 for a small body guitar. The F-20 is too boxy sounding for me, but if that sound works well for your style of playing, it could also be a winner. The pre-Oxnard F-40 is nearly as big as a dreadnaught so skip that one (and the Oxnard F-40 is a full-size jumbo so it's out, too).

It really is beautiful, Tally... Hey you can call it a D-40 Richie Havens it you like, because that's what it is/was in the catalog. Just beautiful.

So glad you got it.

Thanks for the suggestions - I will keep my eye out for an F30, but not immediately the D40 is taking up all my free time.

Chazmo - I'm not much bothered about the "richie havens" thing, to be honest I dont really like other peoples names on my guitars! Likewise I'm not massively interested what kind of spruce it is, it sounds good and plays well

NO, the catalog never showed the Havens '40's in ATB, that's the reason for the questioned identity.

This Moderator is concerned about the discussion of what constitutes a "Richie Havens" model. How about you take it outside, smoke em' if you need 'em and chill until there are more sources of information?
