Been quite a while since I've made a serious acquisition. But I'd had my eye on this model for, well, years, never real serious about getting one, but let's say it was on the dream list. So this baby just arrived. 2006 Gibson J-165, mint condition, perfect sunburst, ebony fretboard, abalone rosette, rosewood back, short-scale, 15" lower bout, acoustic-electric... I got it from the original owner who said it was mostly case bound. It's light, has a nice voice. A thing of beauty.

I gotta make time for a photo shoot, but meanwhile here are a few of the pics from the ad....

OMG, I just noticed in that second photo what looks like a crack alongside the end of the fretboard to the soundhole. I quick checked the guitar... Whew! No crack. Must be shadow from the strings in that photo. I'm better now. First thing I did when I first got it was check the neck angle, which I was very happy to see was right on.

Wow, what a beautiful Gibson and that back is perfectly book matched. What gage strings?
Congratulations!
